Mini reviews: Part two: The Vampire Diaries and Gallagher Girls.

Mini reviews

This is a new type of reviews where I don’t have time to write a full review or it has been a long time since I read the books that I can’t review them fully and each with its own review post.

These mini reviews will have the things I loved, the things I hated and the rating of the book. If you want a full review on any of the following books, just let me know and I’ll re-read them and review them for you :).

This post will have mini reviews of:

- The Vampire Diaries #1: The Awakening.

- The Vampire Diaries #2: The Struggle.

- The Vampire Diaries #3: The Fury.

- The Vampire Diaries #4: Dark Reunion.

- The Vampire Diaries: The Return #1: Nightfall.

- Gallagher Girls #1: I’d Tell You I Love You, But Then I’d Have to Kill You.

A deadly love triangle

Elena: beautiful and popular, the girl who can have any guy she wants.

Stefan: brooding and mysterious, desperately trying to resist his desire for Elena . . . for her own good.

Damon: sexy, dangerous, and driven by an urge for revenge against Stefan, the brother who betrayed him.

Elena finds herself drawn to both brothers . . . who will she choose?

Mini review:

What I loved:

- The writing style. It is unique and really good; simple and easy to understand.

- The plot. I loved the fact that it’s both familiar and different from the TV show. It was really great.

- The characters were awesome. Even Elena whom I hate on the TV show was so cool and good to read about.

- The suspense, the secrets, the fights are all great.

- The end is a cliffhanger! I love cliffhangers <3

What I hated:

Nothing.

Love can kill

Elena: with Damon at her side, and wild with her craving for blood, the changed Elena struggles to control her desires.

Damon: his hunger for the golden girl wars with his hunger for revenge against Stefan.

Stefan: tormented after losing Elena, he will do anything to get her back. Even if it means becoming what he once despised. . . .

Getting what they want may come at a deadly cost.

The first book in a new trilogy from L. J. Smith
Elena Gilbert is alive--again.
When Elena sacrificed herself to save the two vampire brothers who love her--the handsome, brooding Stefan and the sleek and dangerous Damon--she was consigned to a fate beyond death. Until a powerful supernatural force pulled her back.
Now Elena is not "just" human. She has powers and gifts that were bestowed on her in the afterlife. What's more, her blood pulses with an overwhelming and unique force that makes her irresistible to any vampire.
Stefan wants to find a way to keep Elena safe so that they can make a life together. Damon, however, is driven by an insatiable desire for power, and wants Elena to rule as his princess. When Stefan is lured away from Fell's Church, Damon seizes his chance to convince her that he is the brother she is meant to be with. . . .
But a darkness is infiltrating the town, and Damon, always the hunter, is now the hunted; he becomes the prey of a malevolent creature that can possess him at will, and who desires not just Elena's blood but her death.

Mini review:

Before saying what I thought of it, can I note that the writer isn’t L. J. Smith! It’s a ghost writer hired by Alloy. So I guess I know why the story began to suck…

What I loved:

- The complex situation of the relationships.

- All the characters except Elena’s.

- The mystery and the aspect of the plot.

- The end was so good it saved the book from getting two (2/5) stars.

What I hated:

So many things:

- Elena’s character.

- The writing style

- The turn of events when you switch a writer.

- And most importantly the amount of love scenes that aren’t even good ones. They were disgusting, even to me who adore vampires.

The Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women lives up to its name. Not only does this exclusive boarding school teach advanced language skills and correct deportment; its students also master the arts of tapping phones, hacking into computers, and spying in public places. At school, second-generation Gallagher Girl Cammie Morgan has impeccable credentials: She is fluent in 14 languages and able to kill an assailant in seven different ways. But recently life has dealt Cammie a card that she never anticipated: She has fallen in love with an ordinary boy who knows nothing about her exotic double life. A truly covert romance

- The plot is different from what I have read before but unique and cool.

- The characters are so fun and cool.

- The ending was closing and yet intriguing too.

What I hated:

The story was a bit confusing at first and not so interesting at some points.
