Mini reviews: Pretty Little Liars 13-15: Crushed, Deadly and Toxic.

Mini reviews

This is a new type of reviews where I don’t have time to write a full review or it has been a long time since I read the books that I can’t review them fully and each with its own review post.

These mini reviews will have the things I loved, the things I hated and the rating of the book. If you want a full review on any of the following books, just let me know and I’ll re-read them and review them for you :).

This post will have mini reviews of:

- Pretty Little Liars #13: Crushed.

- Pretty Little Liars #14: Deadly.

- Pretty Little Liars #15: Toxic.

In the thirteenth Pretty Little Liars novel, the secrets are more crushing than ever...

It's springtime in Rosewood, but while everyone else is searching for the perfect prom dress, Hanna, Spencer, Emily, and Aria are on a different kind of hunt: They're looking for A...

Hanna puts her campaign for prom queen on the back burner to volunteer at a burn clinic, where one of A's victims is recovering.

Emily digs into Ali's past at the mental hospital with some very crazy consequences. Spencer contacts an amateur private eye to help her stalk her stalker. But when their sessions get a little too private, they may forget to keep their eyes on A. And Aria's worried that A is even closer than she thought. When her dark secret from Iceland comes to light, she discovers that maybe, just maybe, the one person she's been trying to hide the truth from has known all along.

The liars are finally taking the fight to A. But no matter what they do, A's always one step ahead, ready to crush the girls completely.

Mini review:

What I loved:

- I got too accustomed to the writing style and the author’s style that by now her books are so natural to me.

- You might think I’m crazy, but the only other thing that I loved about this book is how smart is “A”, I was always anticipating reading a new message by him/her.

- There’s always mystery and a thrilling storyline.

What I hated:

- It seems that the Liars become more stupid as the books go on. I couldn’t stand them for one minute (especially Aria whose secrets are just too much). And I don’t blame the characters, I blame the author. Seriously?! I could guess everything wrong they were doing and expected the end way before it happened, it was just too obvious.

- The whole story feels dragged and nonsense. This book could’ve been smaller and yet much more interesting and fun to read. I was so close to leaving this book in the middle of reading it, “but it’s the 13th book, I came so far so I might just finish it as well”, that’s what I kept thinking, and at the end I’m glad I finished it.

Deadly, the fourteenth volume in Sara Shepard's YA Pretty Little Liars series, delivers more juicy scandals, dark secrets, and shocking plot twists. This #1 New York Times bestselling series is also a hit ABC Family original TV show.

High school seniors Aria, Emily, Hanna, and Spencer have all done horrible things—things that would put them behind bars if anyone ever found out. And their stalker "A" knows everything.

So far A has kept their secrets, using them to torture the girls. But now A's changed the game. Suddenly the girls are hauled in for questioning, and all their worlds begin to unravel. If A's plan succeeds, Rosewood's pretty little liars will be locked away for good. . . .

Mini review:

What I loved:

- This was a complete different style from the previous one, as if the author realized she was killing the story in the previous installment: this book is almost at the same place as Wanted is for me. Perfect story, suspense, thriller. I couldn’t even guess the ending which was crazily amazing!

- The start is perfect. Finally a really good preface! One of the most killing questions we had since Wanted, has finally been answered. The rest of the book is just as good, as it gets scarier by the page.

- The Liars are finally realizing that “A” plans everything! Phew, I thought I’d never see this day come.

- The friendships, the struggles, the romance. Everything in this book is good. That’s why I didn’t regret reading Crushed.

- Oh, and the chapters aren’t as long as they used to be! So we get exactly to the point! *_*

What I hated:

- Absolutely nothing!

One A has been captured…but the most dangerous A of all is still out there in the penultimate installment in Sara Shepard's #1 New York Times bestselling Pretty Little Liars series.

High school seniors Aria, Emily, Spencer, and Hanna barely survived their most recent encounter with A. And it's not over yet…. The police don't believe there's another, deadlier, A out there, but the girls know what-and who-they saw. If they don't track down this final tormentor soon, A will silence them forever.

Sara Shepard's fan base continues to grow as ABC Family's hit Pretty Little Liars TV show draws in new readers to the #1 New York Times bestselling series. Full of unexpected twists and shocking revelations, the second-to-last novel ramps up the stakes for the jaw-dropping series conclusion in Pretty Little Liars #16.

Mini review:

What I liked:

- The story itself is surprisingly still interesting enough for me to continue reading.

- I must say that the suspense level was good. If only they didn’t say everything in the book blurb..

- Hanna’s and Aria’s characters are way better than before in this book. They’re rational and honest and very clear about what they want.

- I’m glad Ali didn’t show up this time. It was easier to get through the book without her dramatically attitude and presence.

- The ending actually left me hanging even though I knew what was going to happen.

What I hated:

So many thing as a matter of fact:

- The story is obviously being dragged to fill the pages of the book. It could’ve been easily summarized in 12~13 chapters.

- The characters (meaning Spencer and especially Emily) are unbelievable. I just couldn’t like them anymore, Spencer acting emotional and easily becomes attached to the wrong person (as always) and Emily is just… Crazy.

- Why in the world make every new person (with an exception of exactly 3 people) a bad person? Aren’t there any good people in the world left?!
